The name Catuaí means “very good” in Tupi-Guarani. The justification for this name comes from characteristics such as rusticity, accelerated growth, high productivity and, of course, the success that this coffee has among coffee lovers.
Due to its high productivity and excellent quality, it is one of the most widely cultivated cultivars in national coffee plantations. Together with the cultivar Mundo Novo, they represent around 80% of Arabica coffee produced in Brazil.
